Mr. Marco Ricardo Bravo Da Silva, Assistant to the Secretary of State of Science, Technology and Higher Education in Portugal, asked for a meeting with Professor Chandler through U.S. Department of State on December 2006. Mr. Marco was seeking recommendations of how to protect their technological inventions in the USA and around the world.
During the talk, Mr. Marco emphasized the importance to Portugal of protecting their inventions and to avoid the loss of important technologies. In the past, through the lack of knowledge of IP protection resulted in the loss of important inventions made in Portugal. Professor Chandler guided him through the procedure of IP protection and suggested solutions and resources that will aid Portugal in the Future.
